    In this article he chooses the boot option "Boot from LAN". A physical choice. This makes it a difficult jump to automate a Rootkit install, or a VM install that makes you a guest. But if you could hack the bios you might be able to get an alteration in the order of the boot from device. Now, if you can hack the bios, additionally you could also use the PXE ROM to update, pre boot, your malicious installation, as long as their is an internet connection during boot up.
