Buffer Underflows

    Yes that's what i'm calling them, for now anyway, as opposed to Buffer Overflows. If it's not an accurate description i'm sure somebody will correct me.

    After reading this thread https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=244167 i was kindly enlightened by trismegistos, that the Buffer Overflows i was seeing, when using for eg Process monitor, are very different from the Buffer Overflows that malware etc can take advantage of.

    So if these multiple daily/hourly/minute/second events that most people will be experiencing cannot be accurately described as Buffer Overflows, then for want of a better description, shall we now in future call them Buffer Underflows ?

    Term "Buffer Underrun" is used more often in this case, though both terms are correct.
