    Re: Browser Hack/thesearchmall & ??

    Hi,

Close all browser windows and run HJT, then fix these items

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://thesearchmall.com/index.php
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://thesearchmall.com/index.php
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://thesearchmall.com/index.php

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://thesearchmall.com/index.php

    O2 - BHO: ohb - {0AEE4D0C-4B38-4196-AE32-70ACE5656647} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\winsrm32.dll
    O3 - Toolbar: TheSearchMall.com Bar - {4B8F38C7-62FC-4762-B9A0-27E63F768167} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\winsrm32.dll

O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'spsublsp.dll' missing
    O16 - DPF: {41D13E9A-BB94-402A-8502-AFA78526B63D} (iiittt Class) - file://C:\install.cab

Then reboot, problem should be gone.

    A couple of things..
Not sure about these, but they could be spyware. You should fix them if they are not needed, and/or send a copy for analysis and wait for a reply

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WorkFlo] E:\Install\WorkFlow.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WorkFlo(1)] F:\Install\WorkFlow.exe

And please submit C:\install.cab to submit@diamondcs.com.au for analysis
Also send C:\WINDOWS\System32\winsrm32.dll then delete it

    Hi tankful,

    Leave this one alone please:
O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'spsublsp.dll' missing

    It belongs to SpamSubstract.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Thanks Snapdragin, I was not sure if I should post again in the same thread or a new one. My apologies for choosing the wrong one. ;)

    Hi tankful,

I wonder where he is getting hijacked to?
I don't see anything wrong in that last log.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Pieter, Sorry to have another post. He said that this file winsrm32.dll in some form was wanting to run again (obviously one of the layers of protection caught it this time). Could this be something to do with unregistering that dll. :doubt:

Very well possible. It wouldn't be the first time that the Unregister had been tampered with.

    Regards,

    Pieter
