Win10 updates installed without issue, as usual, except that one machine seemed to take much longer than normal.

win11 fine, but win10 refused the latest preview and now the latest monthly update - stuck on august. dism, sfc, wureset, nothing helped me out, so i did an inplcae repair with no loss. i hope a single hiccough only.

reinstalled because of issues. but i am not sure if this one or something else. while over night the machine run, next day my taskbar was stuttering and had broken graphics. uninstalled, reinstalling my graphics driver, currently no problems any longer.

this is the second time i had problems with a preview update, the last one for september (means: in august) forced me to perform an inplace upgrade from iso file with this update included. i dont know what went wrong, but this is pity.

preview updates are disabled since then.

I understand why you would want to diable preview updates after that happened to your machine.

Do you leave your machine on overnight while you are not using it?

A daily disk image saves a lot of work and time if you get hosed by a bad update. None of the recent updates have caused me any issues but if they did I would be back up and running in just a few minutes. I run the Insider Release Preview channel without any concerns... because I can. Not meaning to rub it in, just trying to encourage others to run backups.

yes i did, and i did several times in the past and now. but now without optional updates. some one told me that those are "beta" updates, and until mid august all was fine, no longer. pity, but possible to avoid, i do.

Release candidate is probably more appropriate but any release can have bugs, including the final. But you knew that.

    Well that was weird.
Doing an Win 10 machine updates and was offered KB5046400 along with the others.
It failed to install and I couldn't find any info on it.
When the other updates had installed and I had rebooted I tried again.
    This time it went in.
Did anyone else get offered it?

No issues here and I don't have that extra recovery partition.

    Triple Helix,

Do you have an enabled Windows Recovery Environment?

    Code:
    reagentc /info
    Can you make WinRE UFD's?

It looks like but where is it? If it's hidden how do I get it to show?

    Thanks.
