I currently working on an old Packard-Bell computer and I was wondering do you the correct BIOS setting to get it to boot from the hard and not the floppy drive first?

Not sure exactly on your computer, but in general, you are looking for the Primary Boot device (sometimes worded First Boot Drive or similar). It is sometimes called Boot order also. It is usually on the second (or third) page of bios settings.

The best place I've ever found for all things BIOS is here.

    Hi maddawgz,

The site that Devinco recommends is Excellent ! The advice he also gives is sound, but sometimes the BIOS shows this as an first Boot option to select like this - Boot from HD IDE 0 - that usually does it i've found.

While not as thorough as Adrian's site, here's another article that may be useful: BIOS for Beginners
