Unfortunately when I press "Create bootable rescue media" just nothing
at all happens, every other button seems to work, but not this, also no
    error message, just nothing,...

I did try to remove TI-10 and reinstall ,... but still the same

Hope for a little help thanks

Can't help with the CD creation problem, but be aware that using optical media for direct backups is a painfully slow process. Restoring from them is just as slow and may involve frequent disc swapping that seems endless if the backup image is on several dvds.

If you have access to another computer try the Rescue cd creation on it.

Everyone has their computer set up differenty; also I'm using ATI9.0.3677.

Firstly, when I click on Start\All Programs\AcronisTrueImage I get the following options:

    http://services.arnit.net/images_to_go/users2/ScreenShot0641306161230.jpg

If I click on Bootable Rescue Media Builder I eventually get this screen:

Could you tell us if you can get to this screen or one that is similar?

Hi ,.... thanks for the reply

No it is EXACTLY that screen I miss

And it doesn´t matter if I try, like you, to go directly by "start" menu
and choose "bootable rescue media builder" ,... OR,.... I try to get
there througt main-menu "create bootable rescue media" ,... in both
cases absolutely nothing happens ,.... no messages either

I did try to reinstall several times + repair etc etc

Ver 7 did alow me to create a boot-disc but not ver 10 build 4.871

(latest version I just downloaded) ,... (XP sp 2 fresh install),...

OK. It is possible that TI is throwing a hissy fit at one of the candidate boot devices. Do you have any removable disks plugged in. If so unplug them and try again.

Do you have any strange USB devices such as dongles which might appear as if they are storage devices when they are not really.

If you have removed all those - try disabling your DVD/CD drives and try again.

I would Private Message Acronis Support and ask them to give you a link to a downloadable ISO image of the Rescue CD which you could then burn yourself.

Yes I guess I have to do that, I guess this one is universal for all machines,
also I guess that the one I created in version 7 is not usable with ver 10

Anyway very disapointing I did pay online tonight to get the systems up
running with the DVD-recording possible tomorrow, now I am stucked,
and the failure is almost redicules ,.... the build is not quite new so I even
considered if I had missed on the serial-number and ended up in some
restricted "demo-version-mode" but now I did reinstall 3 times with same
result, and I get "succesful install" message everytime

    thanks for the help

if you need a work around in the short term you might want to look at Bart PE.

Did you uninstall v7 before installing v10?

Might be worth installing v10 via the custom install and physically check the media builder components.

Are you using Roxio's Easy CD/DVD Creator (Easy Media Creator) or Nero?

If you are, you have to exit Roxio's Drag to Disk or Nero's InCD module. If these modules are running the boot CD creation will fail without any reason as to why!

Shut down these modules and try again.

    Hello HHM,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Could you please clarify if you selected typical, custom or complete installation of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home? If custom installation was used, clarify if "Rescue Media Builder" component was selected.

Please explain your step-by-step actions which you took that led you to this issue. Please create a screen shot of all your steps, if possible. Also create Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.
