Bootable image?

My TI boot CD has 16.8 MB of files on it. The compressed image of my (nLited, therefore small) system partition is 676 MB.

A quick calculation tells me these sizes allow for an all-in-one bootable system image DVD or even a CD.

But I couldn't find a 'make bootable disk image' option in TI 8. Maybe I didn't look hard enough?

If the 'make rescue disk' feature allows for making an ISO of the boot disk, I could add a disk image to the ISO myself. But now I have to burn a boot CD, rip the ISO to my HD, add the disk image, and burn it again.

Can this be dealt with in TI 9?

Try this thread: How to create bootable rescue DVD(s)

Three methods are described within this thread. I can only vouch for the first, as that's the only one I've tried, but I'm told that the last (UltraISO) is the easiest.

    Hello 666,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

I would like to add that it is also possible to burn your image to the Bootable Rescue CD.

While creating an image using Create Image wizard, just insert the CD which is already bootable and proceed with the creation of the image archive on this CD.

Acronis True Image 8.0 might "say" that it can not use the inserted CD to burn the image and open the CD-ROM tray. In this case just insert this CD once again.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

    Thank you.

    Hi Alexey,

My method, the methods in the thread linked by wdormann, and your suggestion are all variations on the same theme: workarounds that do the job in a rather inconvenient way.
Does Acronis have any plans to streamline this process?

    Hello 666,

I'm really sorry for your inconvenience.

However, if you want us to change the behaviour of Acronis True Image in any way or to add some new features to this product, please feel free to post any of your suggestions in Acronis True Image WISH-LIST thread.

    Thank you.
