Any recommendations for a Bootable anti-malware CD?
So that the anto-malware program can run unhindered by malware?

Give a try to Kaspersky Resuce CD. They have just introduced a tool to write Resuce CD to USB. It is very effective Bootable CD.

The Rescue Disk provided in the link is updatable even without Kaspersky Lab product installed, while the link I have provided is same ISO, but can be updated only when Kaspersky Lab product installed or after booting. Use Rescue Disk provided here.

    Thanks!

    BTW, Where is this info?

What did you mean by "can be updated only when...or after booting."
So your link iso can also be updated without having Kaspersky Lab product installed ?

How would I go about updating the Rescue Disk in http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/rescuedisk/main?qid=208282173 ?

I've been meaning to find a boot CD tool that calculates hash checksums of critical system/application files and compares them to an online repository of hashes per name/version/etc. Do any of these tools do this?

Without this approach, a boot cd only finds known infestations (blacklist, and perhaps some tell-tale indicators of unknown...).

Also, do they report 'interesting' registry values (e.g., .../Run)?

    Thanks,

    Eirik

I use UBCD4Win.Not only does it contain numerous malware scanners (A2,Avira,KasperskyVRT,SAS to name a few);but within the BartPE there are registry, file, disk tools, data recovery...etc,etc. It's a great all-in-one repair utility.

Are any of the tools mentioned since my post above performing hash checksum comparison of system files to an online reference source?

    Thanks,

    Eirik

There's nothing like that in the default UBCD4Win however you can add your own additional plugins,so if the software is able to run in PE you could add it.;)
