    "Acronis is loading, please wait...", but with switched-on USB-Harddisk even after 5 minutes nothing happens. The Cursor is even not more blinking. (Sorry about my english...).

    I wanted to make a Image from my harddisk on the external usb harddisk.

    Maybe somebody can tell me about that?

    Hello AndiCGN,

    Did you use the latest build? You can check it in Help->About menu. The latest build of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home is 3677 for now. You can get the latest build here. Register your serial number first.

    Also try booting with quiet acpi=off noapic parameters like described in PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU POST.

    Hello AndiCGN,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

    If _Kento_'s suggestions do not help then please also try to use the following tips in order to solve the problem:

    - Check if your external USB hard drive is connected to the computer through a HUB. If yes, then please try connecting it directly;

    - Try using another USB port(s).

    If the above does not help either and the boot process reaches the selection screen advising you to choose either 'Full', 'Safe' or 'Boot into Windows' options then please do the following:

    - Boot the computer from Bootable Rescue CD created using the latest build (3677) of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home once more and press 'F11' key when the selection screen advising you to choose either 'Full', 'Safe' or 'Boot into Windows' option appears;

    - After you get the 'Linux Kernel Settings' prompt, please remove the 'quiet' word, click on the OK button and choose the 'Full' option;

    - As the startup messages stop scrolling please write down the last few lines of the output, or use a digital camera to make a shots of the output screens.

    If the boot process does not reach the selection screen mentioned above then please boot into Windows, if possible, and create Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    In both cases please also provide us with the following information:

    - Create Acronis Report as it is described in Acronis Help Post;

    - Let us know when Bootable Rescue CD boot process freezes exactly;

    - What are the exact vendor and model of your external USB hard drive.

    Then please submit a request for technical support. Provide the files and information collected in your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    P.S. Please also note that a possible workaround is to use bootable CD created using Acronis True Image plug-in for BartPE. This approach allows you to boot the computer into a Windows-like environment loading the appropriate Windows drivers for any of your hardware devices.

    Thank you.
