    Re: BOClean 4.22.001 released

    Hi JRCATES,

    No, it is not needed.
I didn't do that on my XP-home machine.
So far everything is OK on it with respect to the new BOClean.

That BOC422.exe icon points to the actual installation file of your new BOClean.
It is NOT pointing to the GUI.
If you want to open the GUI of your BOClean, then it is the same as it was:
Double left click on your BOClean-icon in the systray near the clock, and then click on its tab "Configure BOClean".
I hope that I did understand you right.

As for your question "the BOC422.EXE icon that Jan showed on the desktop....can that be kept on the desktop":
Of course it is your own decision whether you want to leave it on your desktop.
As I said, that icon only points to the actual installation file of your new BOClean.
If you want to locate in which folder on your system that actual file is put, right-click on it and then properties. Then you will see its location. Go to that location in your Windows Explorer; from there copy it into a safe location.

I hope this helps a little bit.

Thank you Nancy & Kevin, got your email right away and the update went smoothly as expected.

Not only is this program top notch but so are the people behind it.

    Re: BOClean 4.22.001 released

Now for the NOD32 users among us:

In the past several of us did put some of the BOClean files in the Exclusion-list of Amon.
I'm not quite sure whether that is still "needed" (that word "needed" is a little bit strong word here (excuse my poor English)).
Anyhow, if you did that with your BOClean version 4.21, then you might want to check your exclusion-list in Amon and make the appropriate changes with respect to BOC422.exe

Now more in general, about installing as admin:

Look at my screenshot in reply # 16
    You see there that:
BOClean MUST be installed under the 'Administrator' or 'Owner' account.

Did you think of that advice while installing?

I assume that that advice is still true on the new version.

    Re: BOClean 4.22.001 released

Just updated to this version, but boclean keeps claiming that the driver for my tv card is a trojan and needs to be shut down. So what email do I send to for this to be fixed. I checked on the nsclean site but I only seem to see the upgrade email address their. If want to test the driver yourself its the drivers for the leadtek DTV1000T card.

    Thanks.

Does BOClean 4.22 still exhibit the behaviour I described in the following thread:

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=147406

Also, does the CPU usage of BOCore.exe still rise to 90% for a while after selecting an input file in AutoGK ?

No. But it's cheap and you only pay for it once at the moment (i.e. no yearly subscriptions.)

As said above, not free and there's also no trial, but it has a 30 day moneyback guarantee if not satisfied.

Thanks for the email. I have emailed Kevin and a update to fix the problem has been released. The driver for the tv card is no longer a FP.

Installed 4.22.002 today and am not seeing any problems at all.

I did get my Vista RC1 DVD yesterday and have not tried it on that yet and prolly won't till BoClean is released for Vista.

Looking for mine now then. :) Keep us posted controler on anything you think is worth reporting. ;)

I would advise starting a new thread unless a Mod. objects, since we are now talking about build .002

    Re: BOClean 4.22.001 released

As far as I know version 4.22.001 is the latest "official" version.
Only PSC can make an "official" announcement of a newer version.
There will come a newer version (as far as I know), but until that moment all .002 versions are test-versions.

There was nothing special about the e-mail I received the file in. I never saw a mention of it being a test build but maybe it is.

This is the only thing I noticed.

BUILD: BOClean 4.22.002 contained within; "001" is the file extension.

I do not notice anything yet and am using a GEForce video card and drivers LOL

    FanJ,
I have not gone to get mine yet but I assume the .002 fix build for 24 customers is like a special build for those 24 'cause I am sure there were more then 24 customers with problems with .001. :doubt:

    Hey Mercurie,

Of course there might be some more than those 24. I really don't know (it can always be that some BOClean users didn't report a problem, etc.etc.).

I myself prefer to have the latest version/build.

    Warm regards, Jan.
