Wow! I spent 15 minutes the other day helping someone who's earbud fell into some tall grass. He had already been hunting for 10 minutes. His cell phone said it was "right here"! I had to leave and don't know if he ever found it. Centimeter precision location would have, it seems, allowed him to find it 9 minutes before I even arrived on scene.
