wow i did it i did it i back up my whole pc registry thx it was a 52 mb file man i must have alot of stuff on this pc

now to change values

still not clear on that

 

now how do i put this in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]
"DisablePagingExecutive"=dword:00000001
"LargeSystemCache"=dword:00000001

 

Hi MrBlaze,

Open notepad, copy the part printed in bold into a new file, and save it as Memmanage.reg, doubleclick it and confirm you want to add it to the regsitry.


Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]
"DisablePagingExecutive"=dword:00000001
"LargeSystemCache"=dword:00000001

That should work for win2k and xp
for any other version you would have to change that to REGEDIT4

Don't worry, I used to be as puzzled by the registry as by the Book of Deuteronomy But you will find that it is not as bad as it looks (speaking of the registry )

From Paul Wilder's
"Tweak":

I did it and it works well! (My system is in French but the steps are the same on any system)

Follow these steps in order (on steps 2 thru 6 click on the '+' sign to the left of the name to navigate to the key in the next step):

1. Start > Run > Regedit
2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
3. SYSTEM
4. CurrentControlSet
5. Control
6. Session Manager
7. Then you: Highlight "Memory management".
8. Select "DisablePaging Executive", and change value to 1.
Do it by right-clicking on it, and "modify"

You will see the changes I made right below
Values o are changed to 1 (see no.8 above)








You need to make these changes by right-clicking on each of the values and selecting "Modify".
Once the changes are made, go to "File" and then "Exit".
