Good to see that site back - it's surprising how few others there are offering similar advice. On the other hand, it sounds like Windows Vista (Blista?) is driving BV to drink/Linux/Apple. ;)

(site still seems to be up for me too - maybe Network Solutions is messing up here?)

I just saw it was back up. That's great! I hope he gives some bit of explanation and for why he didn't respond to any attempts to reach him. Some of us were worried he was dead.

Service tweaking is futile, if its not in use it does'nt use cpu or ram (it gets paged out to disc.
If the service is in use then you should'nt disable it !

    Its as simple as that.

    http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=34&threadid=1678445&enterthread=y

Read that after someone applies the tweaks from BV on 3 test machines and found NO improvements.

This is a far more useful site http://www.ge0ph.com/xptweaks.htm than Blackvipers :D

Edit: Of course there are occasions when services need to be disabled for compatability and security reasons (but I have not ever experienced a need for this personally).

is there a programs , that let me setup service auto , disable , manual

so i can do a setup save like a standard preset , make another setup (with a different list of service) and call it with another preset name?
