Black Screens of Death fix for Windows Vista SP1 and XP SP3

    A new issue has been discovered that is causing Windows Vista SP1 and XP SP3 to display Black screen of Death.

    The Windows version affected by this problem is Windows Vista Business ,Enterprise,Home Basic,Home Premium,Strater,Ultimate,and all the 64-bit edition , Windows Vista SP1,Windows XP Home,Proffessional, Windows XP Service Pack 3.

    I have been running XP SP3 now for several months and NOT one black,blue or purple screen .

    Actually,even though its still RC Beta,I have it running well.

    Sure it only applies to a tiny minority and in any case,there is a hotfix available from Microsoft.

    So why the panic?

    Hairy, did you notice any differences after the SP3 patch,there quite some who complain their rigs slowing down with it.

    Hi Huupi,

    As a matter of fact-it feels exactly the same as 2-no performance difference at all as far as I can see.
    The only issue Ive had,probably not even to do with 3,is that CoreTemp doesnt seem to be measuring accurately.

    I have running Windows Vista Home Premium since June 2007 and Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 since March 2008.

    I have only seem one "Screen of Death", although it was Blue, and directly attributable to Comodo firewall.

    Never saw any on Vista before SP1; none since.

    Wow what timming for this post,I just walked away from my pc vista sp1 for about ten minutes the time the screen saver comes on, to return to a black screen.No screen saver,No mouse respone,No key stroke response.first ever issue with vista. So is this what there talking about?Well any ways, I followed the you tube suggestion and I am crossing my fingers here not to see this again.
