sg09 and for those interested, BkavSE is now available for Beta testing.

First post of this thread translated via Google Translate. Direct download for Beta. Register here to get a key. I think you can also post comments about the Beta at the Bkis forum (English). The forum is kind of dead though and no news on BkavSE release posted there yet.

Looks nice for a free av ;)

I look forward to your comments based on your trial. Please advise -- does it need a reboot during installation?

Yes it does. Btw you have to register for a license to fully unlock the program (quite similar to avast!).

Also the beta doesn't offer an offline installer, so internet connection is a must ~.~

Is this still going to be freeware after the beta?

AFAIK yes..:) Because it replaces BKAV Home which was freeware.

im living in vietnam actually (nha trang) and people there really really need a strong AV (most of them, who can afford a computer, dont have secure surfing habits), almost all PC of my friends (some of them having BKAV preinstalled but outdated or license ended) had over-infected PC, generally by exchanging files via infected USB keys.

generally i fix their computer and teach them some basics of security.

BKAV is quite popular there. generally pre-installed in new computers. hopê it will be efficient.

For once I kinda like a new interface on the field, which is rare cause I'm hard to impress when it comes to that area. :D

Has this AV been tested anywhere, independent or privately? Thank you :)

No I'm talking about the BKAV Home version, not its homepage.

Thanks for informing that...:thumb: I used it for a while in VM and want to point out something.
    1. Updates should be more frequent, sometimes there are 2-3 days gap.
    2. There is still some lag in the on-demand scanner to connect to cloud.
    3. If they want to globalize the product they should replace Vietnamese text ad with english text ad.

Other than that the AV is quite user and resource friendly.

Thanks for that. It's interesting that this page is in English, while the rest of the site is in Vietnamese.

I've been told that the new Bkis.com (International) site will be launched after 1 to 2 months. So I guess BkavSE final will be released by then also.

On the other hand, BkavPro '11 was released last 5/11/11. It has a sandbox. For those who want to try it can download it from the link below. Just click either one of the 3 servers listed.

there are no new features & interface improvements in Bkav"Pro" 2011, just a new feature called Safe run (Like Kaspersky) & new antirootkit (like Xuetr).
