    BitDefender Opinions?

    Hi,

I want to know what do you think about BitDefender Standard Edition.

    It's a good AV?

    Thanks

I used it for a while and really liked it. It updates frequently (daily), althought once in a while it calls for a restart. I was using it when mydoom broke out, and BD dominated mydoom. I know someone else using it who got into a mess with trojans and BD could identify them but didn't clean them off.
Overall, I'd say it's an above average AV that is fairly light with a quick scan.

i used BitDefender but couldn't continue it. it passed only 3 VB tests but it surely detects some viruses where other AVs miss them. the interface, for some crooked reason, looks more like NAV. updating is seamless and quick. engine is good and also used in GDATA along with the KAV engine. but the unpacker support is very poor. strangely the scanning speed is very slow and i observed the same in another computer. system becomes a bit unstable with it.
