Just purchased BitDefender Mobile Security for Android. Under Settings, I could not see any option to enable/disable Automatic Updates or set the frequency of updates. Though I purchased but want to know whether Android requires an AV itself in the first place. Most of the malware related apps are from Playstore by Google itself.
I use the free version of the app, but I think it is the same with the paid version. Their are no signatures downloaded to your phone...it is all done through the cloud.
