Can anyone confirm if the following differences exist between BitDefender AV 2008 and the latest version of BD 10 AV? Number of visible kernel hooks(SSDT)? Number of running processes? Total memory resource usage(private bytes & working set)? Any help would be very much appreciated.

The ram usage on BD Total Security 2008 was extremely light, added up to just 10mb idling. And available system ram was quite high as a result. Sometimes you get apps that look light in Task Manager yet they somehow suck a lot of available ram away anyhow. But, BD is pretty light and quick as well...

im not sure why my tune up process manager is different to windows task manager, but here... i'll show both.

windows one hardly shows any ram usage at all.

    hmm.

On my computer where BIS 2008 is installed, the 4 process of Bitdefender use about 17 megs.

Bdagent : 13800K(you can shut it down safely, it's the user interface process)
xcommsvr.exe : 236K (this process disapear if you disable the Show BD News)
    livesrv: 1550K
vsserv : 2000K (this process vary greatly from 1000K to 20000K depending on the work it's doing but usually comes back to around 2000K quickly)
