For some reason I find very hard to find a live virus. Gmail is protected and the software I download comes via major distributors like Majorgeeks. Of course you can-t live completely without anti-malware tools but the ligter the better.
When did you last meet a virus in normal real-life computing? 2006? o_O

I'd LOVE to put BD free on mine and my parents computer, but it's too erratic, sounds like it may even cause harm to a computer.

Don't know why it is buggy for all of you. The only bug I've really had is the log button bug. I've also had it on two other computers and two neighbor's computers with no complaints.

BD Free work great till today.

I can't wait till it is fixed.

I've had this same problem before with BD Free. It was fixed.

The problem is back again.

I had to go to uninstall programs and had to do a repair install and after a reboot everything was working fine. I also had to log into my account again and everything updated fine also.

Glad you're back up and running. I posted in BD's forum today about it. So I'll see what they have to say.

    I have the same experience.
Running great on my laptop and the one's from my son, my daughter, my mother in law and my brother in law.
The only issue that I have is the one with the logs button.

I got curious and gave it a long test run last night...

But on my machine (Win XP SP3) it lacks stability. Whenever I tried to restore more than one file from quarantine, the program crashed and I got a message that the service was unresponsive. Only a reboot would help.

The other problem is that the software seems to disable the password manager of my Opera browser.

Too bad, because the BitDfender engine is top notch...

    Cheers

Is it just me or does anybody else also think the Android message in BD Free is annoying?

Kind of. I don't mind the pop-up, but the warning sign on the tray icon afterwards is annoying, as it implies something is wrong, when really it's just them messaging you about the offer.

Unfortunately, it looks like the beginning of what they all succumb to in time... I was hoping BD Free would remain clean. Oh well....

Yes, its annoying. :thumbd: . I mean really annoying. Alright I get it...you're offering Bitdefender Antivirus Free for Android (my wife's already installed it on her tablet). It should stop showing after a certain amount of time. I'm about ready to uninstall it because of this popup. .

    Later...

Is it hyperlink text or a graphical advertisement?

Does anyone have a screenshot I can see?

I ask, because I have a few of my computer clients that use this.

Yeah, I'm with you... I just installed BD today, and it pops up every boot I guess. Sorry, I don't like this crap. Uninstalling now...

So much for another good AV ruined by ads and junk.... :thumbd:

Well I'll stick with the 99%+ detection rates. A small pop-up ad doesn't bother me enough :D

I'm not going to uninstall it, but there's no denying that it's annoying.

I tried the exotic Qihoo Internet security which also uses Bitdeender engine, but i could not get it work with multiple user accounts.
I think the popup shows after every reboot, not in between them.
