Does Online Armor work right out of the box with no configuration?

I didn't have to do anything with Comodo and both the Firewall and Defense+ are set to safe mode.

Yes, it seems fine. You can configure and adjust things as you like if necessary.. I like it so far...

I did.. I restored a fresh clean image of Win 7 x64, then installed BD yesterday, and finally installed OA Free today. Using Firefox also, and no problems. OA recognized BD and set up the appropriate rules for the BD updater, etc... Seems like a good combo so far.

Well I finally downloaded BDF, got rid of Comodo and turned on Windows firewall. So far so good. Now I gotta register.

So do I have to be logged in all the time for this to work or what?

I think it gives you 29 days to login and register. Once you do that, it logs in automatically at startup. Don't know if you can log out or what... doubt it.

    I'll find out soon enough.

I feel naked without Comodo Firewall. Hopefully Windows built-in firewall is good enough paired with this free antivirus.

Win Firewall will keep unsolicited inbound traffic out, but it won't do much about outbound by default.....

If your certain your machine is 100% clean then outbound control should not be an issue.
Please ask yourselves if it was an issue then why did microsoft not introduce a far better way of controlling it.

I personally don't worry about outbound and haven't even used a software firewall once since I bought my first router 8 or 9 years ago.. but a few days ago, I got an urge to relive the past so I thought I'd try out OA Free for fun. :)

If you want to mess with the rules, you can configure Win Firewall for outbound, but I don't have the patience for this myself. Some other Wilders members have done this in great detail though.. Search the Firewall forum for more details...

I'm certain my hard drive is completely clean as it was replaced a few months ago. Now I'll depend on BD to keep the bad guys out.

Windows firewall is a great firewall and im getting tempted to try another combo myself as it is embedded and using no resources.

Actually I'm kinda glad I ditched Comodo because just before I downloaded this one I reinstalled Panda to get the toolbar, but the Defense+ gave me a scare and said it would make changes to the registry, and I kept clicking allow. Now I'm wondering if my registry is messed up but everything seems to be running fine. Computers can be touchy.

Hmmm.. Looks like I'm getting double web filtering with the BD and OA combo. Doesn't seem particularly slow though... no problems so far...

Yeah, that's why I didn't get OA. I foresaw something like that happening.

Yep.. Just experimenting here.. I will only keep OA Free if there is no performance hit. Otherwise, it's gone.

So far ZA is working like a charm with Bitdefender Antivirus Free.

The only problem with Bitdefender Antivirus Free is when close the lid, upon opening the lid to awaken my laptop it growls. Refreshing my browser makes it ok.

I'm hoping for this to be fixed soon.

Earlier, I reported problems with awakening my computer with Bitdefender Antivirus Free.
