Is this version better at gaming the AV-Test's prevalence test ?

If a cloud query comes from an IP address in a Magdeburg, treat it special
If the file name of the directory being scanned looks like \Backdoor\<filename>.ex$ treat it different
If you see X detections in Y seconds, change to a special 'reviewer' mode.


I can go on..

Some products have become VERY good at gaming some of these tests. Dont trust the results anymore.

Add all malware and safe files to same folder, scan all of them.

There are solutions but You are right. Manupulation is always possible.

 

And a lot easier with cloud systems and hard to trace...

 

Thanks for the announcement. I have BDAV Plus 2014 installed and it is running great.

Don't forget about Enhanced SafePay. Easy to switch between desktop and secure environment and with the new Wallet, logging in to banking sites is simple.

it is pretty early to tell but it is showing no impact on my browsing at all. Pretty darn light.

I noticed that you can now create a custom scan and have the ability to delete it in the GUI. This delete option didn't used to be there. I remember having to dig into some file (don't remember the name) and deleting it to remove a custom scan in BDAV Plus 2013.

 

my 2013 lic. worked just fine for the Internet security.

Looking and the features which are included with Bitdefender Internet Security which are not included in Bitdefender Antivirus Plus:

1. Online Privacy Protection
2. Two-way Firewall
3. Parental Control
4. Cloud Antispam

I like to be as light as possible, while still have good protection. The only feature that I see which 'may' have any benefit for me is the "Online Privacy Protection". However, I do not know if the "Online Privacy Protection" would help me that much. Does anyone know what the "Online Privacy Protection" does?
