yes,the license ends somewhere in september and i assume in october after sending it for production and some marketing as well.
kaspersky took 2-3 months after completing final release.

Well, if last year was anything to go by, the Standard and Pro versions will probably be released mid-August to early September. The Internet Security Suite should be out by the end of September. Most of the time, they always get their entire product lineup out by September.

yes, BDF is in production since a week, so it will be almost for sure be released the 21th August.
in the august test the version 10 is not tested, as at time of testing version 9 was available. Anyway, before someone asks, the on-demand detection rates (and the results in our tests) are the same for both versions, as the main differences in the new version 10 are e.g. the rootkit-detection and the B-Have behaviour blocker etc. [:p], features that are not evaluated in our tests.

Yes it is. IBK, B-HAVE is actually also available in BD9.
Behavioral Heuristic Analyzer in Virtual Environments or in short, B-HAVE.
Technically it's a mix of HiVE and behavior blocker packed in virtual environment. Also since it's like feeding every sample to KAV6 Proactive Defense in VirtualPC you'd already evaluated it. But since you used program from 3 months back it was probably not yet updated to B-HAVE.
Though they certanly have to work some more on behavior rules...
Waiting for new proactive/on-demand test ;)

This may not be completely true because:

    1) Translated text says:

As I interpret it, this means that a license can be used on either one PC + one laptop, or two computers.

    2) Less than a week ago, I have asked this question to their support team and have received the answer that I can indeed use BitDefender on two computers. The deciding words were "be it desktop or laptop".

This is strange, I don't know whats up. :doubt:

So, anyone found a way to get an English version, at least?
This product makes me proud because it's made in my country :D.

Well, proud or not let's see the new av-comparatives.org results first. :D
BD is a great product no doubt but during the time it had some up and downs in detection and usability of their products.

Thats an odd one. Wouldn't it be more logical to launch BD10 english first?

Just read the BD Forum and noted a thread on the launching of BD10 in France. One of the post said that Live Support has indicated the official release date of the English version was set to 28 Aug 2006. Not sure if it is the tentative release date.

BitDefender 7, 8, 9 and 10 use the same scan engine, therefore on-demand scan detection rates will be the same. However, BitDefender 9.x and above has spyware scan capability and adds encryption of quarantined files, and BitDefender 10 adds rootkit scanning and B-HAVE. However, AV-Comparatives does not test the spyware or rootkit detection capabilities of various AV products, so the version of BD will not make a difference in detection rates.

I've spoken to BitDefender today, and the English version ain't ready yet. They expect to release it end of this month. The French version is released though.
