Got 2019...sometimes search rating don't show up..They told me to clear the Browser cache...Helped for about 10 minutes now nothing in searches in Edge or Chrome show up..The password auto fill has never worked for me either....It seems like the word refund they don't like although they claim you can get one within 30 days of purchase..no more Bitdefender for me..
    Bit Defender plus 2019...Windows 10 64 bit!

It’s always worked great incorporated with Emsisoft, and my newest favorite, GDATA. I’ve trialed and beta tested Bit D in the past, but will never use it in its true form. As others on Wilders and other forums have said that it’s buggy and has issues. Have only tried to get a refund from Norton and Kaspersky. Zero issues with those 2. Both customer services are top notch. Emsisoft and GDATA also.

BD ftw basically. But each to their own.

My experience with Bitdefender a few years ago wasn't too good. On three machines it ran pretty well with just a few weird bugs now and again. On two of my machines it didn't do well at all and I had the devil of a time getting rid of it. It could be better now, I don't know. I'm currently running ESET Internet Security on all of them and have not had any issues.

I try it every few years, and it's NEVER worked well for me. After a few weeks, my systems (always near top of the line hardware) will slow to a near crawl.

Even if you can get it to work, don't expect it to protect you from zero-days...

I've tried it in the past but it hasn't seemed to improve at all

Seems like a lot of work to do to get a refund. Hope you receive one

For whatever reason BitDefender itself has been buggy on 50% computers I used it on for as long as I can remember. When it works, it works GREAT.

But to get a BD experience without the BD bugs, I still recommend VIPRE, BullGuard or F-Secure.....

Buggy BD has been my experience also after many years of off and on usage. They just don't seem to be able to produce a clean product. It's a shame because I think the protection is good.

Man BD goes way back and so does their buggy history. Remember back when they had their free version as a scanner only? (like 10 years ago or longer). And their free version would quarantine malware but had a leak in the quarantine. Something major happened with that company about 5 years ago or so when they suddenly hit it big and were licensing out sigs and engines to half the rebranding market. They had a major money push which had to quadruple (or more) their customers,

BD provides great signatures, it is fine to use any AV with BD signatures, except BD itself. :D

F-Secure has always been great for me.

I have been using Bitdefender for over a decade.
My main problem was always the same - during updates BD “clogs” the computer for several minutes.
Also, just recently (after some serious update last February) my Total Security has presented me with another annoying issue.
If I use any VPN, my computer can’t “see/talk to” other ones within my local network.
I found a temporary solution - in Firewall settings turn off Stealth Mode, but it’s not 100% guaranteed, especially if I run some “cleaners”. A restart helps.
Otherwise, I am very happy with BD.

I used BD from 2014 to 2016. I liked the features and performance but got tired of troubleshooting glitches every time there was a version change.
The standard support solution was to uninstall and reinstall and/or submit all kinds of logs to them.
In retrospect, I think most (all??) AV vendors launch their new products still in beta form and expect their customers to finish finding the bugs for them.

Free itdefender works great here. I am sure there are millions of happy customers also. Any buisness with any customers will always have some who are not happy and you have to accept that.

I really do not want to hit Bitdefender on this.

It amazes me how any AV company can produce an effective product that will be installed in millions of devices of different brands, age and configurations many times with additional AV products installed by the users "to be safe".

There is no amount of beta testing that can take care of this minefield.

Still AV vendors continue to make things worst by adding more and more bells and whistles beyond the required security features.

I guess the free versions probably work best since they do not have all the additional and unnecessary glitter.

I have used both the paid and free BitDefender thru the years and both have always been buggy. It's just what you get with BD. Things can go well for quite some time and then bang... problems. This is on multiple machines too. When you use BD, you takes your chances... :)

Using BDIS newest for 4yrs or so on 2-3 pcs. I had problems especially when BD Central accts were introduced. But once I updated or installed only through BD Central I only had a couple. Both were my fault. BD has 24/7 toll free FREE phone support. The reps speak clear English & are very knowledgeable & helpful.

I've used dozens of paid & free AV & IS over the years. Never been safer than with BD. And in the past & now to get the information I need (about the 3letters, big businesses etc.) I have to go to some dark places. Other top flight security solutions have failed miserably. I won't name the others but it was ALL the big names.
