Someone brought a machine to me, & now I'm stumped:

    Upon boot:

Diskette drive 0 seek failure <the machine has no Floppy Disk>

    press F1 to continue <boots to win10>

dev mgr shows 2 entries floppy disk drive & floppy disk controller <deleted both & reinstalled nxt boot>

Award BIOS ver. 1.0.15 date 6/23/2008 <Dell svc tag 1SDX2F1, shows BIOS 1.0.15 last update 2011>

I would believe these ar the same bios, via having same version, do they update bios & keep same version?

    In BIOS "Boot Device Config"

Removable device priority (top of list) press enter

    1. Floppy disks <nothing works here bios keys + - or left right arrow, floppy disk highlighted in red

    Back to "Boot Dev Config

Removable Device Priority <expanded shows floppy disk, highlighted red>
    Hard disk Priority
    First boot dev (cd rom)
    Second boot dev (hdd)
    Third boot dev (cd rom)
    Boot other dev (disabled)
    boot menu security (disabled)

CMOS battery date & time OK. Friend requesting help said previously problem did not occur (F1 to continue to windows) then after Win10 update, problem occurred.

I thought CMOS battery, seems fine, may have caused the problem

I thought re flashing BIOS, would help, but as ver. are same Dell support & machine both 1.0.15 but diff dates.

This machine 32 bit 2048mem, IMO should not be running win 10, better win 7

Any thoughts on removing on boot diskette drive 0 seek error, F1 to continue.

Also I thought using right left arrow key, I could lower on the list "Removable Device Priority" those key do nothing.
