Great forum! I have an Lg external Dvd burner, usb 2.0. If I make a dvd backup of the c drive will the Acronis program be able to access this external drive after I load up the Acronis bootable disc?

I made a backup of the c drive in 700 mb sizes. Can I burn those images onto the dvd without using incd, and will they be accessible in regards to the 1st question?

Lastly, can I test the booting and availability of the above without actually going through the process, as a test run. Will I be able to cancel the operation right before actually making the image onto the c drive?
    Thank you
    Bill

    Hello Bill,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

Images stored on DVDs are available when you boot from Acronis Bootable CD. We recommend that you use UDF-formatted DVDs and burn the image parts there.

Please note that nothing actually happens before you press the "Proceed" button. It means that you may boot from Acronis Bootable CD, go through all the steps in wizard and then roll back so that no changes are implemented but you test the performance of the software.

    Thank you.
