    Dear Pieter,

Thanks for your help. That seems to have worked. However, I may have accidently deleted something I shouldn't have...whenever any of the users on my computer logs off now, it comes up with rundll32.exe is not responding...then you can either press "end now" or wait til all the bars work their way towards the end... Is that related at all, and is it anything to worry about? I restarted the computer and logged on and off all four users and it continued to do so.

    Hi sally,

Just guessing, but I think a file called bridge.dll (spyware) was removed, but the startup entry was left intact.

I will need a HijackThis log after all, to help you get rid of that error.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Hi Kent,

Yes I am still having the problem where when I go to shut down the computer or switch users, rundll32.exe stops responding. I noticed that bridge.dll file that Pieter was talking about was listed in the log. Has the problem got anything to do with that?

    hi sally,

Before you start, please unzip hijackthis to a separate folder. The program will make backups in the folder in the folder it's in.
These easily get lost in a Temp folder.

Check the item below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunDLL] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll",Load

Then reboot and the error should be gone.

    Regards,

    Pieter
