The following items have been detected by other software but for some reason Spywareblaster hasn't detected or blocked them. The items are:

    1] FARMMEXT.COM a Cool WWW SEARCH item

This uses an .exe file and a configuration file in C:\WINDOWS; files in C:\WINDOWS\PREFETCH, C:\WINDOWS\LASTGOOD, C:\WINDOWS\INF. The only way to rid of it is to use search and locate all the files and delete manually, which we shouldn't have to do.

Spybot S & D detects this but does not remove all the components, only the INF file

    2]Malware File By VX2 called QARBPVMC.EXE

This has a locked .exe in C:\WINDOWS and a file in C:\WINDOWS\PREFETCH.

The only way to get this out is to use ADWARE by Lavasoft, it is the only program we have that detects it but will not prevent it.

It would be nice to have a program that will actually block all this garbage for once and for all. Since having Spywareblaster we have had several new Trojans appear only detected by our anti-virus. The trojans are downloaders and at this time we don't have a name for them yet until we get hit again by them. Something like Downloader.Small.ANS.31 or something like that, not sure.

Thought everyone and JavaCool should know about these items.

    Thanks, Terry;CEO Sandstorm Creations

Hm - where to begin? Have you read any of Javacool's site about just what SpywareBlaster actually is?

#1 - SWB does not detect anything.

#2 - SWb is certainly not an Anti-trojan - nor has our friend Javacool ever claimed that it was.

#3 - I'm truly sorry you feel you "shouldn't have to" manually remove malware you are infected with - but sometimes life just isn't fair. All the same, I do sympathize - malware authors are the scum of the earth.

#4 - Lavasofts application is called "Ad-Aware" - not "ADWARE" - I hope you can see the sort of confusion such a misnomer might cause!

Now - on to the root of your post - it seems you were hoping SWB would detect/remove trojans... this is certainly not the case. Check the sticky threads in this forum to read details about just exactly what the SWB application actually is and what it does.
