    Hello all,
Here is a new beta release which is relatively minor in changes, but should be helpful for stability.

Below is the changelog. As always, you can download it from http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?grab=edgebeta for 32bit/64bit new installations or from http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?grab=edgebeta64 for a manual upgrade for a 64bit installation.

    - Updated the version information for 2010
    - Fixed an issue in Chrome and IE on x64 PCs
    - Fixed an issue requiring two clicks to show the browser clip
    - Fixed an issue showing stored credentials on an x86 instance of Chrome on an x64 PC

Kudos to LagerX for supplying a remote assistance session to correct the browser issues :thumb:

Some areas which we are currently working on are:
    - East Asian language support
    - Fully supporting protected mode on IE8 for automatic credential protection
    - Add protection of stored credentials when copied to the clipboard
    - Continue protecting clipboard data from a secured website after the browser is closed

Let me know if you find any issues! :) Thanks for the testing!!

ive never used the credential part, as im a little bit wary of putting the only forgetful numbers to me in-there, my bank/credit card.

Updated fine here, thanks Joe, but just to report the following, which may be
    related to others' findings:
    1. Not showing up in Windows Action Centre (last 2 builds).
    2. "Enable splash-screen on boot-up" feature only seems to work
properly(despite being enabled/checked) if you uncheck it, reboot, check
it, and reboot again, from what I've found.
    3. System-tray icon disappeared after installing 114(and rebooting), and
    returned after another re-boot.

Hope any of this can give you any info, and thanks for all your hard work.

Found that if I disable Kaspersky's "system is protected" boot-up splash screen,
then Prevx's will work fine every time, there must have been a conflict?
Anyway, I think the Prevx one looks nicer (oops, no A v. B!), and is very
    reassuring to see IMO.

Rootkit identifications can potentially be caused by files not having been fully written to disk - we've whitelisted this beta component now so you shouldn't receive any further warnings :)

Version 3.0.5.114 is working fine for me too. I updated using the "Check for updates" link in the GUI. This seemed to take a minute or so, but eventually worked.

I was suprised to see PrevxHelp say they are working on maintaining clipboard protection once the browser is closed because I thought this had already been implemented in version 3.0.5.113 (I tested it).

The only thing we're missing now is the extra protection for confidential data on the clipboard then SafeOnline will really be a killer app.

    Everything is fine here:thumb:

The previous build 3.0.5.113 crashed with Chrome 4 sandboxed in my VM running XP mode, now it seems to be ok.

Yesterday I have bought yesterday 2 full 1 year licenses of your wonderful PREVX 3.0 (without SafeOnline though) since I have been impressed by the full version I won thanks to the latest Widerrsecurity forum contest and your generousity.
At present I have installed and activated PREVX 3.0 in my desktop PC with Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and in a lapotop of mine with Vista SP2 (I have only to chose where to activate the other PREVX license I've bought).

I noted that: the full paid version doesn't integrate in Windows 7 Action center while it registers itself in Windows Vista Security Center.

To be honest I'd like PREVX 3.0 not to register itself into Action Center/Security Center since it works fine alongside my antivirus of choice.

I had a minor issue when updating PREVX 3.0.5.113 to build 114 on Windows 7 x86: after downloading the updates, PREVX quitted and even the prevx shortcut on the destop vanished.
I have been a little bit afraid, but after rebooting PREVX appeared again perfectly working:D

    Just a question:
    - should I format for some reasons shall I be able to reset my activation code via myprevx webpage? I'm not familiar with it, I'm sorry.

Thank you very much in advance

    Regards

Can you uninstall via Add/Remove then reboot and download this version from the first post and make sure that you have your other security disabled when installing a fresh copy and make sure you save your License key as you will need to apply it after the learning scan!

    HTH, ;)

Enter key doesn not work on Start menu with this build on Win 7 x64, so it's possible to search for something, but you have to click with the mouse to run it.

Disabling Prevx realtime and SafeOnline didn't help, but uninstalling Prevx and rebooting Windows did solve the problem.

Also, the problem I reported previously about SafeOnline not working with Firefox if you extract Firefox from ZIP instead of installing with the installer, is still present with this build.

Could you let me know if this occurs when a secured website is open or if it is a general issue? I haven't experienced this but if it is reproducible I would definitely be interested in seeing if we can work around it!

Can you try disabling SafeOnline when updating in this manner? I suspect SafeOnline is locking outside processes from accessing the browser whichb prevents it from working properly. Let me know!

I can tell you now, Prevx wont even think of letting it loose till they know it is very close to ready. Especially with what has happened of late with the early releases of software that are still really alpha.:D

I still say late fall or the new year as they have allot on the table ATM to get all the fine tuning with 3.0.5 with SafeOnline and the MAC version!

    Hello all,
I've moved the next beta thread to the betas forum :) https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=269816

Regarding Prevx 4.0 - we are still actively improving Prevx 3.0.5.x and are still some months away from 4.0 still just because of the massive improvements going into it (3.0.5.x was originally going to be 4.0 by itself :)). However, we have a full picture of what 4.0 will look like when it's finished and have started work on the new core components. It will indeed be extremely exciting, but it will take some time before everything is ready for mainstream testing :)

As TH has said, we are also moving quite quickly with our Mac and Linux versions, as well as major improvements in our Enterprise product so stay tuned :)
