Looking to run Fedora in a VM rather than dual boot since my main OS disc is only a 120Gb SSD. Whats the best software out there to allow me to run various snapshots from a second OS disc? Id also prefer free.

I currently run Win7 x64 Pro, 12Gbs of RAM, i7, etc. Secondary disc is 7200RPM.

I think VMware VMworkstation is the best, but it isn't free by a longshot.

Agreed on both counts. VirtualBox really is not bad for free and would be my second choice.

Virtualbox is free and you can use it as you described.
