You might want to broaden your request to inculde the BD 8 series. Being that the BD 9 series has only been out for about 8 hours, I'm sure none of us have any good data on any detection improvements. ;)

I'm sure the question specifically related to two particular anti-viruses, so let's not take the thread off topic, instead try to guide the Original Poster in a direction that would have them make the right choice for their needs.

    Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen.

For an older machine, NOD would be a better choice.

Otherwise, both will give you good protection. As suggested previously, trial them both and see which one suits you and your machine the best.

NOD32 !! Had Norton 2 years ago Big, Big Mistake!! It let in 189 Virues and trojans with out even knowing  then install NOD32 it Clean 184 an said that I could Delete the others!! Very happy customer ever since!!

    Cheers,

P.S My ISP uses Yahoo mail and they have Norton now and still lets things through but NOD32 stops them dead in there tracks!! Funny thing that Rogers Yahoo are pushing people to get thare Security Suite :mad: Not for Me!!

I do not suppose there is any detection improvement. It is a good thing IMO that BD 8 and 7 also are getting the HIVE heuristics engine.

I myself had a very hard time choosing between BD and NOD32, and therefore I advise you to follow your heart when making a decision between these two! :D
