FortiClient Free has superb detection rates in AV-Comparatives, yet somewhat not light. Also it has many processes and slow in scanning.

Can you suggest a LIGHT antivirus/malware with similar detection rates?

The ever lightest AV is MSE/(Windows Defender for Win-8 ).

Well thank you. But not as good as FortiClient in terms of detection.

    I am using Windows 8.1

    OK, then:
    Avast
    Avira
    AVG

    Immunet

    Baidu
    Quihoo

They must be very light, though not so as MSE. My favorite here is Avast! :thumb:

I rarely agree with the test results when it comes to performance, but I think it's the most valid evidence anyone can give.

    Real-world protection test: hxxp://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php?chart=chart2&year=2013&month=8&sort=1&zoom=2
    File detection test: hxxp://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php?chart=chart1&year=2013&month=9&sort=1&zoom=2
Performance test (lower is better): hxxp://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php?chart=chart4&year=2013&month=5&sort=1
