Can anyone point me in the direction of some good "all-in-one" 2000/XP hardening guides?

I'm looking for some guides that cover lots of registry security tweaks.

    Thanks!

Regarding the registry the only tweak you need is running as limited user. That will block you from writing/changing both HKCR\ and HKLM\. As for tampering with HKCU\, avoid it, it will only give you problems. Better to have a good Reg. monitor (Regdefend, Winpooch, RegRun) where you can add your own ruleset of keys.

    /C.

You can go to my website. I wrote some articles (you can find them on the menu on left) providing explanations and tools to harden your system. The language is for newbies but the info is relevant and powerful. Although we don't get into registry modifications on the site. It does offer some useful tidbits.

Here are the topics I try and cover:

    Secured Web Browsing
    Cyber Self Defence
    Anti Exploit Resources
    Test your Firewall

    Non Security related but usefull:
    Internal PC Mechanics

We provide a software/OS break fix service but we primarily do Computer security work. You can think of us as Technical Janitors, as we are always busy cleaning up the mess users get themselves into... ;)
