    Interesting. Does any current security software alert for this behaviour? I remember in the past either outpost or kaspersky alerted to this

    I remember, years ago, when using Outpost that it had an option to enable alerts for similar network attacks. Router with firewall blocked most of it, so usually no such activity was logged on my system.

    Had a look at outpost 9.1 in xp


    No problems reported on halifax site for me.

    Under attack detection
    With the settings:
    attack duration 600msec
    closed port weight 1
    used port weight 1
    port scan alarm level 6
    single port scan alarm level 1
    bumber of different hosts DOS 256

    I had an IPCop for a while, like 5 years back. On a second tower with low-end hardware. That was able to detect such attacks. Unfortunately IPCop is EOL now.

    Exactly this. If you are behind a router you won't see this activity.
