When I choose to backup to a DVD (I own an LG Dual Layer) my TI8 would say no disk or something like that.

Do I have to first packet write the disk with Nero or something? I am using Verbatim DVD-R disks.

To write a TI image to DVD you either have to

    - have packet writing software installed; or,
    - write it to disk and then burn separately using mastering software product such as Nero.

    Hello Andrew

I'm not sure whether you're aware of it but there is a difference between the Acronis online FAQ and the User's Guide regarding Roxio software as follows:

I believe the two statements need to be harmonised.

    Regards

Hi all - good info here from what i read can i assume regardless of software/dvd drive you can NOT use DVD-R DVD's ?just DVD-RW DVD+RW

while i wont argue what format is "best" as most writters these days support + and - shouldnt acronis be able to write to DVD-R's ? RW's are fine but they are slower and not everyone wants to add info a static once a week backup on a DVD-R would suit me

anyway of using acronis with DVD-R's ?

    Figures, I bought a 25 pack of DVD-R's!

Ah well, I'll snag some DVD-RW's tomorrow and try to burn my images.
