I use True Image Home 2009. It usually takes 3-4 hours to back up my
entire computer (130GB) to an external usb/firewire drive.

However, the last two backups have completed in about one hour. I checked the backup file sizes (tib files) and the sizes are the same. The log looks the same as well. Lastly I can pull up the explorer tools from the backup file just fine. The only difference that I know of is I didn't use the firewire cable (used the usb 2.0 one instead).

My question is, how long should a backup of this size take?

    Hello bschooly,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image Home 2009

USB 2.0 max speed is 480 mbit/sec. 130 Gb = 130 000 Mb = 1040000 Mbit (1040000 *. Using USB 2.0 will take approximately 17333 sec = 4,8 hours. Backup time is also influenced by compression level, you may check it from Options -> Default Backup Options -> Compression.

    Best regards,
