Recently I have installed Acronis True Image Home V. 10.0 (Build 4871) on my computer. Today I found the following folder on my hard disk, containing 134 *.xml files:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\BackupScripts\
Can somebody explain me what the purpose of these scripts is?

    Werni,

I'm ready to be corrected, but they look to me like scripts for the Backup My Application Settings feature.

I am sure you are right. I just did not yet discover and use this function. And I also think that it is not of great value. As soon as there is a new version of an application, the script in ATI will not be usable anymore.
Example: It lists McAfee SecurityCenter 2006. But the newest version today is McAfee SecurityCenter 2007.

I'm skeptical about this feature also, in that I'm not sure if it will pick up a user's custom installation, for example one not installed to the common default of C:\Program Files.

    Hello Werni,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please note that CatFan432 is right. These *.xml files contain information about supported application (references to Windows Registry, paths etc) and use during back up.

We are going to increase the list of the supported application in the future.

    Thank you.
