Is the message that I get when I try to burn a partition image to a CD using my HP 9100+ CD writer running under Windows 2K. I know this is an old OS running old hardware but Clone CD and Nero both burn files to CD very well under this version of Win2K which is up to date with security patches.

Have recently uninstalled Windows Media Player, Adobe and all sorts of old stuff but still no joy.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Would be very grateful for anything that works.

Might be the Paragon is expecting a modern (ish) drive.

Have you tried it to dvd - or does the drive only support cd's?

Did the Paragon recovery cd burn fine?

You can select the image split option and still place the backup onto the HD. Then burn to cd, if that helps.

    Thanks for your reply.

The drive only supports CD's which is kind of antiquated, I agree.

And no the recovery CD did not work, after pressing the "Next" button it just hung.

Thanks for the suggestion to backup to the HD - and then copy to CD - might try that if all else fails.

    Hi speedbird,

You are going to need some kind of bootable recovery media.

The 10 series uses a new Linux kernel.

You would be better getting hold of a 9 series boot cd. It will work with the backups created by the 10 series. Luckily, there is a giveaway of that still available.

You might also like to get this - it is a only available free till Tuesday - more functions than the B&R10 Free.

    Paragon Backup & Recovery 10 Compact [32-bit]

It does mean a couple of large downloads - but it means you have an excellent backup app. and a boot cd that works for you.
