I have two Operating Systems (Vista and XP) on my computer. I have TI installed on both but, only one Secure Zone on an external HD. I want to create two seperate (one for each OS) full initial backups and then create subsequent incremental backups for each OS all in the same Secure Zone area. My question is will TI be able to tell which incremental backup goes to what OS? In other words, I don't want my incremental backup of my XP OS going to the full backup of Vista or visa versa. I hope that makes sense. Will I be able to do it the way I want or no?

Each OS is independant. Each is one its own RAID array and I didn't install the drivers in the OS for the other OS's array to be sure Windows cannot see the other drives.

Then I suspect you are OK. Which Boot Manager are you using?

I have no experience dual booting with Vista but I did have a test computer that contained 15 installations of WinXP. Each booted as a C: drive while the other 14 were hidden.

    Hello SBacklin,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please note that you will be able to store several image archives of different partitions in the Acronis Secure Zone along with incremental/differential image archives. When creating a new incremental/differential image archive Acronis True Image analyzes the image archives stored in the Acronis Secure Zone and creates incremental/differential backup to the appropriate image archive.

Please also keep in mind that Acronis True Image uses automated scheme to clean up Acronis Secure Zone, which is described in chapter 3.3 "Acronis Secure Zone" in the Acronis True Image 10.0 Home User's Guide. Generally, if there is not enough space, older backups will be deleted to create space.

    Thank you.
