Backup Plus drive is a 4K sector drive. Need advice.

    The part in blue is correct. Windows backup won't work on 4k drives.(iunless you are on windows 10)
    The part in red is false. Most third party software are not affected by this.

    Well, it is semantics. What Seagate refer to as a native 4K drive is technically correct but the Seagate Backup Plus Slim 1TB drive doesn't support 4Kn sectors so it will behave much like hard drives we used to buy over ten years ago. It emulates 512 byte sectors so what they said originally about "does not support any Windows backup tool or third party software to take a system image backup" is incorrect.

    Thanks for persevering with the investigation.

    Well, I started Topic not knowing enough to even begin to ask the right questions.

    Seagate Backup Plus Slim 1TB = 4K plus 512e = emulates 512 byte sectors.
