Backing up that never finishes

Using Acronis True Image Version 9.0 build 2323.
So far, the only time that this software backed up to the end of the process were twice when I selected ONE file to be backed up to a CD-RW.
So far, everytime that I attempted to back up a number of files in one session, it goes to maybe 24% of the process and then just stays there doing nothing. The CD is not writing, the hard drive is not busy.
I does not matter how long I wait to make progress, it is always the same.
Mind you, I use different CDs, including DVD-R and DVD-RWs.
I am exposed, with no complete backup of my critical files.
Anybody has similar experience or anybody knows what is happening?
I will appreciate the help.

Please do the following to get the latest build:
- Go to the Updates section of Acronis web site at http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/updates/.

Please install the below update with disabled logging and see whether the problem persists.
