I've installed B&R 10.1 Free on my Vista (Norwegian version) Lenovo laptop.

When I try to run one of my scripts, I acknowledge a confirmation, a CLI window flashes and then nothing happens. The output text in the CLI is:

    Code:
I/O warning : failed to load external entity "file:///C%3A/ProgramData/Paragon/%3CLangNeutralProductName%3E/Settings.xml"
BTW, the contents of C:\ProgramData\Paragon\ are three directories: launcher, scripts and viewlog.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling once, to no avail.

    Any help, please?

    traabil,

Please try to re-install the product as follows:
    1) Go to Start - Control Panel - Programs & Features
    2) find B&R 10.1 Free and click uninstall
    3) Follow the wizard
    4) Once completed, go to C:/Program Files/Paragon Software and delete B&R 10.1 Free folder
    5) Restart your PC.
    6) Disable antivirus
    7) Run installation of B&R 10
 Follow the wizard, install program in default destination and for all users
    9) Restart your PC.

Run Backup & recovery. Does it work?

    Mech_An,

thanks for trying to help. I followed your instructions to re-install the product. After I re-created the cyclic backup script it looks as though it ran successfully the first time. However, when I try to run the next cyclic backup the same thing happens: the CLI pops up with the error message brifly, then nothing.

BTW: The forst time it when it ran successfully, i believe the error message was shown as well. But shortly after the progres window appeared and the backup started.

Any ideas? If not, I'm afraid I'll have to give up on this product.

    traabil,

Could you please check if file Settings.xml exists in C/ProgramData/Paragon/
I suppose there should be a sub-folder with this file.

Could you please specify what antivirus do you use?
Do you have another paragon products installed?

Try add Paragon into exception list prior to running it.
To add the product to exclude list please do:
start AVG interface - press Tools - Advanced Settings - PUP Extensions - Add Exception
Find the Launcher.exe file and add it to exception list. Also tick Any Location - do not use full path box. Save changes

    Check if it works.

    Thanks,

do you mean prior to running Paragon or prior to installing it, i.e., removing and installing it again.

Please try to add exclusion first and check if it works.
If it still fails, try to disable antivirus, uninstall software, install it again (keep antivirus disabled). Then add exckusion and run Paragon B&R 10.1 Free.

Note: paragon B&R 10.2 Free is available. you can try to install latest version.

Still no luck, even tried installing 10.2.

    There's still no Settings.xml under ProgramData\Paragon either

Can anyone please tell me what is supposed to reside in Settings.XML, so that I may manually create the file and have a go?
