AVK, Escan and Extendia

Is that all same manufacturer or these are all diferent products??

different manufacturer, same engine, but modified

 

1. GDATA's AVK is at the present time, a double-engined AV consisting of a modified Kaspersky engine and one from BitDefender. GDATA are German based.

2. eXtendia's AV is an older AVK version, licensed from GDATA. It is again a double-engined AV, but this time it has the KAV and RAV engines. eXtendia/Boomerang Software are simply resellers of this AV and based in the States. There are no engine upgrades with this program.

3. eScan Antivirus has only a single, modified Kaspersky engine. MWTI who produce eScan are I believe an Indian company with offices in the States. No connection as such with GDATA nor eXtendia.

Also just to point out that Extendia also do just the single KAV based scanner as well as the KAV/RAV double scanner.
