avira update IPv6 ???

I have been reading posts about Avira update problems.I have update problems too,but I am a fan of Avira.I am using it on 3 of my PC's at home for nearly three years.2 Laptops are Vista and there is no update problem.The only problem is on my XP SP3.I am reading about IPv6 but I really do not understand much.Should I install IPv6 on windows XP.Are the other antiviruses using the same update process using IPv6.Is there a way to test IPv6 connections,sorry to ask so many questions but I do not know where to start from.
