It just amazes me, that it is for sale and nothing has been posted about this final at the forum......I don't think it's a very friendly way of not informing so many people being busy with this beta product. My pants are way down to my knees about merchandising this the way they do it now! It could just be me, but I sure don't like it. And how come it's final already? All bugs fixed?

They did kind of slide that one under the door. I tested the beta, and received absolutely no notification at all that this had gone gold. If I hadn't perused Avira's site, it would have remained unknown to me.

Did Avira change their minds - can Premium users use their lisence for this?

I don't see how they justify the extra 19.95 euros for the firewall, which imo is quite basic. Antivir premium combined with comodo or ZA would be a much better choice.

I really think it should be free for currently premium people, especially those who bought their lisence in the LAST MONTH.

    this forum is biased!
totally agree, even though i personally have never liked avira software, some people do and this is fine, but for people who have premium licences should get a FREE upgrade to the suite, because in the end ... isnt it just the basic firewall thats added? surely not worth the $20 add on.

i would also recommend they keep their premium licence and get a free firewall.

I agree. Good, really good people, but a suite that was rushed missing a lot of features already included in suites for a price that will never sell. A year from now, it may be the one we all want though. But rushing it out without these features was wrong. Current customers get screwed while 5 bucks, from each sell. is donated to a very good charity. It just doesnt add up. Good people though who will eventually get it right.

I beta tested the suite. I had problems with Mailguard in the beta and the RC. I had to disable Mailguard to send and receive e-mail. Hopefully they fixed that. The suite itself is ok I guess if they fixed everything. That is a little expensive for just an antivirus and firewall. I also think that premium license owners should have gotten some kind of notification about the suit going gold, and an offer of a discount if they wanted to upgrade.

The reason I won't be using the suite or any AntiVir product is this. I am, or I guess you can say was, a AntiVir Premium license owner. I lost my license key. I admit it is totally my fault. I should have made copy. I have sent Avira three e-mails asking them to please send me a copy of my license key. I have not received one reply. At this point I think I would be happy to get a reply saying, "you lost your license, tough ****, buy a new one". Anything to let me know there is somebody working there.

Graystoke: AFAIK if you didn't also forget your mail adress and password you can simply re-request the license email via the online shop.

As far as i saw the suite went gold around 6 or 7 pm CET yesterday evening, and an announcement on the webpage was made. Maybe betatesters will receive a mail today, I don't know. Personally it's enough for me to have the news on their web frontpage since this is where an active betatester is heading anyway...

No. You need to pay the additional $20 to upgrade. A new key-file is needed for the Suite.

I'm not an Avira beta tester, and I'll never be one for sure.
But IMO, beta testers are helping anyway.
They should be treated in the same way.

    Just my 2 cents.

39.95 Euros is a decent enough price but since AVIRA does not offer renewal discounts, its going to be costly in the long run...

Not for the Premium standalone AV but let's hope there is a discount for the Suite after the first year of use :doubt:
