    Hi,

Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this false detection today of superantispyware.

I have done a few full scans over the past few days without anything being found, until today.

Here is the scan log and can anyone tell me how to let avira know about this false detection of superantispyware.

    C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SUPERANTISPYWARE.EXE
    [DETECTION] Is the TR/Fakealert.BZ Trojan

Thank you baz, I did check superantispyware.exe on jotti and only avira is detecting it as a trojan, so this confirms it as a false positive.

    HI Everyone,

I just thought I would update you all, I sent in the false positive sample to avira and within 15 minutes I received this email.

    Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for your email to Avira's virus lab.
    Tracking number: INC00394517.

A listing of files alongside their results can be found below:
File ID Filename Size (Byte) Result
    25490316 SUPERANTISPYWARE.EXE 1.91 MB FALSE POSITIVE

Please find a detailed report concerning each individual sample below:
    Filename Result
    SUPERANTISPYWARE.EXE FALSE POSITIVE

The file 'SUPERANTISPYWARE.EXE' has been determined to be 'FALSE POSITIVE'. In particular this means that this file is not malicious but a false alarm. Detection will be removed from our virus definition file (VDF) with one of the next updates.

You just cant beat that for quick service, I will be staying with avira for a while yet. :thumb:

    Hi;

I am using Avira Premium with SASpy but I did not encounter Avira detecting SASpy as TR/Fakealert.BZ Trojan though.

Sometimes avira does that but the I do agree that avira's submit samples via email is fast.

    Regards,

    Dundertaker
