I ran Avira Personal 9 alongside Comodo Firewall w/Defense+ for quite some time with no problems at all.

    I also use CIS/Defense+ ( 3,14 version ) and Avira 9 without problems.

No conflict. I had run Comodo 4 w/o the Av and ran avira personal 10. It was a good combo. All you have to do is add the hourly updates by making a update schedule every 2-3 hrs. That takes care of the once a 24 hr update.

I know it is not recommended, but I have tested for a week the full CIS v4 (av included) with the latest version of Avira free with no problem whatsoever. Believe me or not they co-existed without a fight.

    Thanks.

*gasp* You tested 2 AV together! Someone call the security police! So really. You didn't have any conflicts at all? Thats interesting. Did it slow down opening files and websites or anything?

No headache nor bellyache at all. I know I should not have done it, but I was just curious. I took a gamble and I won. Things went so smoothly that such a fact scared me for a while :D.

    Thanks.

I can confirm: I made the same thing for three months and I had no problem. But then I disable CIS av: two av in real time are redundant, I don't know if their effectiveness works at 100% or if one can interfere with the detection rate of the other.
