No, AVG told us that it wasn't the full PC Tuneup and was a selection of the TuneUp tools - you'll notice they still offer Tuneup as an option when buying Premium.

We've just been sent an NFR serial code so we're planning on getting it written up over the weekend. I guess we'll know more by Monday.

We're still working on our AVG Premium review. Mike says it will be ready tomorrow. In the meantime, I thought I'd confirm that Premium only contains 4 of the 16 AVG PC Tuneup modules:

-Disk defragmenter optimizes your file system to speed up your hard disk
-Junk File Removal eliminates junk files to give back valuable space
-Registry Cleaner fixes registry problems that cause freezing and crashing
-Broken shortcut removal speeds up Windows Explorer for faster file browsing

AVG have renamed this as "Quick Tune" for Premium.

    As promised:

    http://www.softwarecrew.com/2011/08/review-avg-premium-security-2011/

It's a short review as it's really an update to the previous Internet Security 2011 review.

With AVG's 2012 range due 1st of September, everything in the range is due an update. No real new features, but AVG have, apparently, been concentrating on making the existing technology as fast as possible (for 2012).

Internet Security Suites should be exclusively focused on Security; not on System Maintenance/Tunning.

There are other Vendors (not Security ones) who are experts on
    Disk/Registry Cleaners and Disk/Registry Defragmenters.

TuneUp Utilities, Auslogics BootSpeed, Ace Utilities, jv16 PowerTools or

stand alone Disk/Registry Cleaners and Disk/Registry Defragmenters

offer, BY FAR, better System Maintenance/Tunning than any Internet Security Suite.

    So many Bold letters :D
Btw, I do agree to it . I personally rely on tune up like s/w for maintainability as they are much more feature rich.

But there are majority of people who dont know abt them but since everyone use Antivirus , they get things done with them.

Indeed, AVG PC Tuneup is just Auslogics BoostSpeed with some AVG logos in the GUI. The disk defragmenter and registry cleaner from Auslogics are both free products and actually my favourite available in the industry, especially the disk defragmenter is great. I am against using registry cleaners, but I have used Auslogics' registry cleaner a few times and I think it is one of the safest available. Pair those two with CCleaner and you have got a great free pc maintenance pack.

Do you REALLY know if the defragmenter is great OR just fast? :/
