    Hi out there!

Im testing these suites for a friend who has a slower comp. The both run very fine but i just cant decide whats better

So now ill ask you whats best :)

Im only interested in the comparison of the AV, FW and SW, not the antispam.

Its difficult because i dont know how well TMAV performs vs AVG.

The TMIS firewall seems a bit better, but when I create rules etc. accepting a program connecting the internet, I dont see the rule created in the firewall section. It only shows the "standard" programs it allowed when installed the software o_O

Well, what do you suggest? :)

(Im not interested in recommendings for KIS or other suites. Just the comparison between those to)

    AVG has better detection rates.

OKi, thats my impression to, but since I never done any big deep tests myself its difficult to know :D They should allow tests by av-comparatives  But maby theres a reason why not

How about the SW and FW?!! :D

ok but i would have to say avg since it seems to have better detection rates and isnt bloated IMO.

i would have to say the trend micro firewall is better.
the avg firewall is very basic.

well well well, i have great experience with these two, so let me give me view.

detection: AVG (but i wouldnt say by much)
spyware: TREND (id still take trend over ewidos sigs)
firewall: TREND (by far, the firewall in trend is better than AVG)
    less ram: AVG
    fastest boot up: AVG
    fastest scan speed: TREND
    greatest support: TREND
    features: TREND
    spam: AVG

    logos: both are great :)

to be honest i use both and id recommend both, AVG does run better and faster, but lacks some of the features in TREND,

if price is an issue, trend have matched the very cheap price of microsofts onecare, so this would be the choice for you.

but look what ive wrote and choose which bits you prefer, then decide.

    THX :thumb:

I agree what U say, except i belive they are even in SW :D

I think ill recommend him avg because he got an older slower comp and he dosent need a lot of the features TMIS contains, so for him the extra features would just be bloat :) Other than that, he's a safe surfer so I think AVG would suit him (of course i dont know how many porn sites he's visiting, but I think he's girlfriend does the job :D)

For an older computer AVGIS is probably the better choice as it's a lot lighter than TMIS.
