I recently installed the free version of AVG AS 7.5 in place of ewido 4.0. I never had a problem with updates with ewido, but now when I try to update AVG, I get an alert from Spy Sweeper 5.2 that AVGAS.exe is attempting to make changes in my Hosts file.

Spy Sweeper uses the Hosts file to set up a number of loopbacks for known malware. I am very happy with SS overall, and I have no idea what AVG would be doing with the Hosts file - adding new entries, which would be OK, or perhaps deleting SS entries, all of which I want to keep and therefore not OK. I am using SS to block those changes for the moment.

Does anyone know what AVG AS 7.5 is up to? I tried to get into the free forum Grisoft has on its site, but the instructions are to register online from the Information menu on your installed AVG Free. I don't see any Information menu, or anything that looks like it.
