mp3s made sense back in the era of smaller hard drives, but since that's no longer the case, there's no reason not to go with .ogg.

I would love to get my hands on this trojan, so that I can test it against Neoava Guard, which is, if I´m correct, able to stop this kind of stuff. :)

After the Sony Root Kit Disaster I seriously doubt that any official organization would ever consider releasing such a trojan. If they actually did I suspect that it will become known quickly because they will probably dealing with code writers from unofficial groups . It would be ironic if some mp3 collector lost their mp3 collection which they actually might have paid for.

    Hm,
I wonder if my AV protects me from this. My data drive access are restricted by the AV, no files are allowed to be created or deleted.

Conspirators aside: a serious nasty little threat
    Where's it coming aboard from?
    And
That goes back to the "disable autoruns" thread which should be a given on any box..

Seriously, whoever created that virus ought to pursue more positive interests.

I can't imagine what their life is like. o_O

If a virus wants to eat all my mp3's, fine with me, I could use the space right now... :D

Good one. There is just no end to such new ventures that these type creators will dream up in their so-boring world. Kind of lame actually, i mean even in the more refined virus writers circles, they could at least be creative and have the MP3's jump around the desktop or something more inventive than just destruction, but whatever.

Huh? Aren't those both lossy formats so should be around the same size? If you meant a non-lossy such as flac/monkey/etc. then yes. However, at 192 bitrate, it really is good enough for my ears, so I only use lossless on classical music and for storage.

    Cheers,
